EVENT OUTLINE

Purpose
  • To improve and globalize informal education for gifted in science through ideas sharing  of accumulated knowledge and programs among the APT nations.

  • To encourage and challenge gifted students to excel in the field of science and technology.

  • To stimulate students’ intellectual curiosity through various experiences and experiments.

  • To Foster friendship and networking among gifted students in the APT region.

  • To motivate students to pursue careers in science and technology.

Venue

      Center for S&T Research (PUSPIPTEK), Serpong, Tangerang, Indonesia.

 

Participants
  • two (2) teams from each country

  • Each team should consist of three (3) students and one (1) teacher/mentor

  • Selected gifted and talented students should be aged between 13 to 15 years.

  • Teachers should be educators of Science in their respective countries.

Selection Criteria for Students

The programme targeted to top science students from ASEAN+3 regions.

To ensure that selected students benefit fully from their participation, the science students should:

  • Between 13 and 15 years of age as on January of the contest year;

  • Have experience in science research or competitions;

  • Possess good oral proficiency in English;

  • Be academically able and is among the top 5% of their cohort; and,

  • Be willing to network with fellow students at the JSO.

 

Selection Criteria for Teachers

To ensure that the teachers fully benefit from their participation, the science teachers should be:

  • Educators or senior personnel in science in a school or another educational institution;

  • Proficient in English;

  • Able to share their learning points and experiences to other science teachers; and,

  • Able to implement teaching ideas or strategies in school.

 

Registration

For registration, please complete and return the registration form by E‑mail to the contact point, not later than 30th May, 2015.

 

 

Transportation

Local Transportation will be provided from Sukarno-Hatta International Airport to PUSPIPTEK Serpong. The time of shuttle schedule will be informed as soon as the flight itinerary submitted.

 

 

Accommodation

Lodging is provided in the accommodation of the Center for S&T Research (PUSPIPTEK), a 3-

storey accommodation with private shower and toilet.
